Panacur Oral Suspension for Dogs and Cats

• Shake the container well before using Panacur Oral Suspension.
• Weigh your dog or cat and access their bodyweight as accurately as possible for determining the dosage.
• Give the appropriate dosage of this oral liquid to your pet by mouth directly after feeding.
• Alternatively, you can add the dose to your dog or cat’s food, directly before feeding.

For routine treatment of adult dogs and cats:

• Administer 1 ml (100 mg fenbendazole) per 2.2 lbs. of your pet’s bodyweight as a single oral dose.
• Repeat the treatment when natural parasitic worms re-infection occurs.
• For adult pets with minimal exposure to infection, administration of repeat treatment 2 to 4 times per year is recommended.
• For dogs in kennels, it is recommended to administer the treatment more frequently, at 6 to 8 week intervals.

Practical dosage recommendations:

Note: For dogs weighing over 141 lbs. (64 kg), administer an extra 10 ml for each additional 22 lbs. (10 kg) of bodyweight.

For puppies and kittens under six months of age:

• Administer 0.5 ml (50 mg fenbendazole) per 2.2 lbs. (1kg) bodyweight daily for 3 consecutive days by mouth directly after feeding to un-weaned pets, or add to feed for weaned pets directly before feeding.
• Treat puppies at 2 weeks of age, 5 weeks of age, and again before leaving the breeder’s premises.
• Treatment may also be required at 8 and 12 weeks of age. Thereafter, the frequency of the treatment may be reduced unless the puppies remain in the kennels, where re-infestations occur more readily.

Practical dosage recommendations:

Note: For puppies weighing over 22 lbs., administer an extra 0.5 ml for each additional 2.2 lbs. (1 kg) of bodyweight.

For pregnant dogs:

• Administer 1 ml per 8.8 lbs. (4 kg) bodyweight (25 mg fenbendazole/ 2.2 lbs. (1 kg) bodyweight) daily from day 40 of pregnancy continuously till 2 days post-whelping (approximately 25 days).
• Treats puppies from these dogs with a 3-day course at 2 and 5 weeks of age.

Practical dosage recommendations:

Note: For dogs weighing over 88 lbs. (40 kg), administer an extra 1 ml for each additional 8.8 lbs. (4 kg) of bodyweight.

For pregnant cats:

• Pregnant cats require only a single treatment at the routine adult dose rate.
• Administer 1 ml per 2.2 lbs. (1 kg) bodyweight as a single dose (100 mg fenbendazole/ 2.2 lbs. (1 kg) bodyweight).

Increased dosing for specific infections:

• For the treatment of clinical worm infestations in adult dogs and cats or Giardia spp. infections in dogs: Administer 1 ml per 4.4 lbs. (2 kg) bodyweight (50 mg fenbendazole/2.2 lbs. (1 kg) bodyweight) daily for 3 consecutive days.
• For the control of lungworm Oslerus (Filaroides) osleri in dogs: Administer 1 ml per 4.4 lbs. (2 kg) bodyweight (50 mg fenbendazole/ 2.2 lbs. (1 kg) body weight), daily for 7 consecutive days. A repeat course of treatment may be required in some cases.
• For the control of lungworm Aelurostrongylus abstrusus in cats: Administer 1 ml per 4.4 lbs. (2 kg) bodyweight for 3 consecutive days.
