Equimec Horse Paste

Equimec Horse Paste is a broad-spectrum anthelmintic, formulated to control key internal parasites in horses. It contains Ivermectin to treat and control adult and immature roundworms. This easy-to-dose oral paste formula controls various species of Large Strongyles (adult and arterial larval stages) and Small Strongyles (including benzimidazole-resistant bloodworms), Intestinal threadworms, Pinworms, Hairworms, Bots, Lungworms and Neck threadworms.

Equimec Paste also aids in controlling skin lesions caused by summer sores, Habronema and Neck threadworm (Onchocerca spp.). The treatment comes in an easy-to-use trigger applicator for quick administration and may be used in horses of all ages including mares and stallions.

Usage Directions For Equimec Horse Paste
  • Equimec Paste should be given orally.
  • Ensure the horse's mouth does not contain feed.
  • Unlock the knurled ring by making a 1/4 turn and slide the knurled ring up the plunger shaft.
  • Adjust the side nearest the barrel at a suitable weight marking.
  • Turn the knurled ring 1/4 turn to lock it in place.
  • Remove the plastic cap from the tip of the nozzle.
  • Insert the syringe into the side of the horse's mouth in the gap between the front and back teeth.
  • Advance the plunger as far as it will go, depositing the treatment on the rear of the tongue.
  • Raise the horse's head immediately for a few seconds after dosing ensuring the complete dose is swallowed.

Dosage:

  • Administer at the recommended dose level of 200μg ivermectin/kg weight.
  • The contents of a syringe will treat one horse at 1320 lbs (600kg) weight.
  • Each weight marking at the syringe plunger offers 1.07 g of paste which is enough to treat 100kg weight.
Equimec Horse Paste Protective Measures
  • Mares may be treated at any stage of pregnancy.
  • Stallions may be treated without adversely affecting their fertility.
  • Avoid treating horses less than 21 days before slaughter for human consumption.
  • Not recommended for any other animals intended for human consumption.
  • Dispose of the empty syringe by wrapping in paper and putting in the garbage.
  • Avoid contact with eyes, skin and clothing.
  • Contact a doctor in case of poisoning.
  • Keep away from the reach of children and pets.
